iPod Catches Family Guy Mania
America’s most dysfunctional family (and we don’t mean yours, Homer) comes to iPod with its own Freakin’ Sweet Family Guy iPod application. Now how cool is that, giggity? Seth Macfarlane’s Family Guy has invaded iPod and will crack you up with its funniest scenes. Who could forget how Quagmire asked Meg’s friends who wanted to lose their virginity first? Or Trisha Takanawa reporting on sex with a random guy who turns out to be no other than Quagmire? These and more hilarious scene are now available to keep you chuckling along.
Right now, the only thing going against it is that there are only 25 video clips of Family Guy’s funniest scenes available. They are broken down into categories such as New Today, Evening News, Freakin’ Family Life, Life of Lois and Everyone Hates Meg. Each section contains 5 video clips which have durations of roughly 45 seconds to a minute. I just hope that they add future updates, making this database grow larger, hopefully with Fox Mobile Entertainment including more character clips as well. For our sanity’s sake, we can’t get enough of Family Guy and we are given only 25 clips? They have got to be kidding.
If you have had your fair share of laughs with the video clips, there are other options to keep you company, like the Stewie Pin up where you can make a one of a kind image of Stewart Gilligan Griffin himself with interchangeable head shots and body images. Want to shake things up? Take it out on Peter in the Peter Toss. By swiping or shaking your screen, you can toss him around your iDevice while he shout’s out phrases like “Boobies!”, “I’m your daddy” and “Awesome!”
Overall, this app has tons of potential but currently, it’s certainly lacking content. If weekly or even regular video clips are added with more of our favorite characters, then the sky is the limit. Until then, catch a rerun of the show on FOX or TBS. If you’re a diehard fan of Family Guy, then this app will definitely provide you with some laughs; just be prepared though as you will likely find yourself wanting more after the first 10-15 minutes.
